Provisions
- It provides for verification and regulation the tenants residing in rented houses in the state.

Inner Line Permit (ILP)
- It is an official travel document issued by the Government of India to grant inward travel of an Indian citizen into a protected area for a limited period.

- Currently, the ILP is operational in Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland.

About NPR

- For the purpose of NPR, a usual resident is defined as a person who has resided in a local area for past six months or more or a person who intends to reside in that area for the next six months or more.
- The NPR is being prepared under provisions of the Citizenship Act 1955 and the Citizenship (Registration of Citizens and issue of National Identity Cards) Rules, 2003.
- It will be conducted in conjunction with the houselisting phase, the first phase of the Census, by the Office of the Registrar General of India (RGI) under the Home Ministry for Census 2021. Only Assam will not be included, given the recently completed NRC.
