Project Saksham

The Indian Railways has launched Project Saksham, country’s largest time-bound “upskilling” exercise for its employees to boost their efficiency.

  • The first project successfully completed upgrading the skill sets of 13 lakh-strong work-forces of Indian Railways with a single drive spanning nine months. It was started in January 2018 till September 2018.
  • The scheme was required because of poor performance of Indian Railways on account of derailments, accidents, poor services and inefficiency of its employees.
  • With the success of the first season, Project “Saksham-II”-Training of all Railway Employees was started in 2019.
