Railways Act, 1989

The Railways Act, 1989 is an Act of the Parliament of India which regulates all aspects of rail transport. The Act came into force from 1989. It replaced the Railways Act, 1890.

The Act provides in detail the legislative provisions regarding railway zones, construction and maintenance of works, passenger and employee services.
