Bringing relief to sex workers, the Supreme Court directed the Unique Identification Authority of India to issue AADHAAR cards to the sex workers.

• The court said, "notwithstanding the profession, every individual in this country has a right to a dignified life under Article 21 (Right to Life) of the Constitution”.
• The apex court also ordered police forces throughout the country to treat sex workers and their grievances with respect and dignity.
