Economic Survey

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on January 31, 2025 tabled the Economic Survey in Parliament ahead of the Budget session. It is prepared by the Economic Division of the Department of Economic Affairs, under the supervision of the Chief Economic Advisor (CEA). The survey is presented a day before the Union Budget each year. The first Economic Survey was released for 1950-51 and was presented along with the Budget until 1964.
