Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is the Indian governmental regulatory body for civil aviation under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

  • This directorate investigates aviation accidents and incidents. It is responsible for regulation of air transport services to/from/within India and for enforcement of civil air regulations, air safety, and air worthiness standards.
  • The DGCA also co-ordinates all regulatory functions with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
