The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is the Indian governmental regulatory body for civil aviation under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
This directorate investigates aviation accidents and incidents. It is responsible for regulation of air transport services to/from/within India and for enforcement of civil air regulations, air safety, and air worthiness standards.
The DGCA also co-ordinates all regulatory functions with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
