Located at Hyderabad, it is one of the important centres of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
It has the mandate for establishment of ground stations for receiving satellite data, generation of data products, dissemination to the users, development of techniques for remote sensing applications including disaster management support and geospatial services for good governance, etc.
It acts as a key player in Earth Observation Programme and Disaster Management Support programme.
It provides the necessary trained manpower through capacity building in remote sensing applications.
