Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK)

It is a restructured version of Multi-Sectoral Developmental Programme (MsDP) (running since 2008) launched in 2018. The aim of the scheme continues to be in line with the earlier scheme i.e. to support the State/UTs in creating infrastructure to improve the quality of life of people and reduce the imbalances in the identified minority concentration areas to be at par with the rest of the country.

• These Minority Concentrated Areas (MCAs) are identified on the basis of minority population (as per SECC, 2011).
• The challenges/issues faced in earlier versions like lack of details regarding people (BPL) in MCAs, inclusion of housing needs, slow progress of the projects under MsDP, etc. must be addressed in the restructured version to make the program more effective.
