AMRIT (Affordable Medicine and Reliable Implants for Treatment)

The Ministry for Health & Family Welfare has launched the Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment (AMRIT) programme with the aim to reduce the expenditure incurred by patients on treatment of cancer and heart diseases.

• 172 AMRIT pharmacies have been set up across 19 states for providing medicines for diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and other diseases at discounted prices to the patients.
