Global Cyber-security Index 2020

The Global Cyber-security Index (GCI) is an initiative of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the UN specialized agency for ICTs.

  • GCI is a trusted reference that measures the commitment of countries to cyber-security at a global level – to raise awareness of the importance and different dimensions of the issue.
  • Each country’s level of development in field of cyber-security is assessed along five pillars – (i) Legal Measures, (ii) Technical Measures, (iii) Organizational Measures, (iv) Capacity Building, and (v) Cooperation – and then aggregated into an overall score.
  • India is placed at 10th position in this global cyber-security index with a score of 97.5.
