The Supreme Court held that any organisation which is working for the social and economic welfare of the society without a political objective cannot be penalised as an organisation of political nature.
So the voluntary organisations which have absolutely no connection with either party politics or active politics cannot be denied access to foreign contributions.However, such exemptions will not apply to organisations that are used for channelling foreign funds by political parties.
