Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)

The Ministry was formed on 15th August 1947 and is mainly responsible for the maintenance of internal security and domestic policy.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is primarily responsible for:

  1. maintenance of internal security,
  2. governance issues between the centre and states, and
  3. disaster management.
