One Stop Centre (OSC) Scheme

Gender Based Violence (GBV) is a global health, human rights and development issue that transcends geography, class, culture, age, race and religion to affect every community and country in every corner of the world.

  • To counter gender violence, One Stop Centre Scheme was launched in 2015. The scheme aims to facilitate access to an integrated range of services including medical aid, police assistance, legal aid/case management, psychosocial counselling, and temporary support services to women affected by violence.
  • Under the scheme, it has been envisaged that One Stop Centres would be set up across the country in phased manner.
  • The issues this scheme face is of poor infrastructure (no CCTVs, beds etc.), lack of awareness about its existence, reports of delay and unresponsive attitude of personnel’s etc.
