It is not a scheme but a step to encourage lawyers/legal practitioners to come forward and help the poor in accessing legal services free of cost.
Department of Justice under Ministry of Law and Justice have created an online database that will register such practitioners providing legal service for free. They will be recognized for their service.
Government has also launched Nyaya Bandhu app in Feb. 2019, to ensure free legal aid to poor. So far (Feb. 2023), over 5951 advocates have registered to the portal, handling 2179 cases.
