The following provisions of the Constitution enable the state to take measures for promotion and development of education in India:
Article 21A – Free and compulsory education to all children in the age group of six to fourteen years. It was inserted by the 86th Amendment Act, 2002.
Article 45 – Early childhood care and education for all children until they complete the age of six years.
