Sustainable Finance Scheme

Sustainable finance scheme was launched by SIDBI to fund sustainable development projects that contribute to energy efficiency and cleaner production. All sustainable development projects such as renewable energy projects, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) star rating, green microfinance, green buildings and eco-friendly labeling, etc. covered under this scheme.

Objectives: The following are the main goals of the Sustainable Finance Scheme:

  • New/existing units would be eligible for financial assistance under the scheme.
  • It covers renewable energy projects such as solar power plants, wind energy generators, mini hydel power projects, biomass gasifier power plants, etc. for captive/ non-captive use.
  • It also includes projects related to waste management.
  • It provides suitable assistance to Original Equipment Manufacturers that manufacture energy efficient and cleaner products, green machinery and equipment.

Assistance is provided in the form of working capital or term loans to MSME Energy Service Companies that implement Renewable Energy Projects.
