Global Tuberculosis Report 2019

The Global TB Report 2019 published by WHO, provides a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the TB epidemic, and progress in the response, at global, regional and country levels. It features data on disease trends and the response to the epidemic in 202 countries and territories.

  • The tuberculosis incidence rate in India has decreased by almost 50,000 patients over the past one year. Globally, an estimated 10.0 million people fell ill with TB in 2018, a number that has been relatively stable in recent years.
  • India accounted for 27% of the global total in 2018, the largest share in the global burden, according to the report.
