World Immunization Week

World Immunization Week, with the theme “Protected Together, #VaccinesWork”, was observed from 24-30 April, 2019. It aims to highlight the collective action needed to ensure that every person is protected from vaccine-preventable diseases. Immunization saves millions of lives and is widely recognized as one of the world’s most successful and cost-effective health interventions. Expanding access to immunization is crucial to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

  • The achievement of full immunisation under the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (Indradhanush 2.0) to at least 90% coverage has to be achieved by 2020 or earlier NMC Bill.
