Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana

It was launched in 2014 with the objective of creating enabling environment for need based and outcome oriented holistic development of the tribal people. It would ensure that all the intended benefits (goods and services) to the tribal people through various programmes/schemes of Central and State Governments covered under the respective Tribal Sub-Plans actually reach them by way of appropriate convergence.

  • Promotion and conservation of Tribal Cultural Heritage.
  • Promotion of Sports in Tribal Areas.

Since its inception, it’s been vulnerable to changing budgetary allocation. In 2018, no additional funds were allocated and it was supposed to utilize funds under tribal sub-plans. Even in 2019, marginal increase in funds was seen.

The government must implement tribal development schemes in mission mode to ensure utmost effectiveness.
