The Union Government has put ten foreign donor agencies based in the US, Europe and Australia under the “Prior Reference Category”.
It will restrict any funding by these agencies to Indian NGOs or individuals without the approval of Ministry of Home Affairs. This has been done to prevent funding from institutions which indulge in works not listed in Foreign Contribution Regulation Act.
