The Multi-State Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill 2022

On 20^th December, 2022, the Lok Sabha referred the Multi-State Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2022 to a joint committee of Parliament. It proposed to amends the Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002.

Significance: Ensuring Transparency and Accountability: It will help to bring transparency and accountability in the co-operative sector.

• Better Governance: It will help to strengthen governance, reform the electoral process, improve the monitoring mechanism, and ensure ease of doing business in multi-State co-operative societies.
