Survey to Address Data Gap on Migrant Workers

On 18th February 2021, the government launched five pan-India surveys on migrant and domestic workers, employment generated by professionals and in the transport sector apart from quarterly establishment-based employment survey to plug the data gap on migrant Labours.

  • The lack of data on workers, which was evident during the COVID-19-induced lockdown in 2020, would be addressed by these surveys being conducted by the Labour Bureau.
