World Investment Report 2021
On 21st June, 2021, UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) released its World Investment report 2021.
- The World Investment Report supports policymakers by monitoring global and regional investment trends and national and international policy developments.
- This year’s report reviews investment in the Sustainable Development Goals and shows the influence of investment policies on public health and economic recovery from the pandemic.

Global Level
- The COVID-19 crisis caused a dramatic fall in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2020.
- Global FDI flows dropped by 35 per cent to $1 trillion, from $1.5 trillion in 2019.
