- Peace: Abiy Ahmed Ali (Prime Minister of Ethiopia) for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, and in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighbouring Eritrea.
- Physics: One half to James Peebles (Canadian-American) for theoretical discoveries in physical cosmology and the other half jointly to Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz (both from Switzerland) for the discovery of an exoplanet orbiting a solar-type star.
- Chemistry: John Goodenough (Germany), M. Stanley Whittingham (British-American) and Akira Yoshino (Japan) for the development of lithium-ion batteries.
