Madhuca diplostemon
Researchers at the Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (JNTBGRI) at Palode in Kerala have rediscovered an endangered tree species of Western Ghats, long believed extinct, after 184 years from a sacred grove in Kollam district.
- The lone mature tree identified as Madhucadiplostemon, was located at the KoonayilAyiravilli Siva Temple at Paravur, Kollam.
