Trigonopterus corona
- Museum scientists recently discovered 28 new species of beetles on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.
- One of them has been named Trigonopterus corona, reflecting the large impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on this project.
- Trigonopterus is a hyperdiverse genus of flightless hidden-snout weevils (Cryptorhynchinae).
- It is distributed in Australia, Indonesia and Melanesia.
