SCO Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake, Rescue Held in India
The four- day Shanghai Cooperation Organization Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake Search & Rescue (SCOJTEX) 2019 was held from 4th November in India.
SCOJTEX
- It is being hosted by National Disaster Response Force.
- Its aim is to rehearse the disaster response mechanism, share knowledge, experience, technology & mutual coordination.
- All 8 member countries participated in this exercise.
- Main focus was to test the region’s preparedness and resilience towards effective activation of Inter- governmental interaction for immediate response.
