SCO Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake, Rescue Held in India

The four- day Shanghai Cooperation Organization Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake Search & Rescue (SCOJTEX) 2019 was held from 4th November in India.

SCOJTEX

  • It is being hosted by National Disaster Response Force.
  • Its aim is to rehearse the disaster response mechanism, share knowledge, experience, technology & mutual coordination.
  • All 8 member countries participated in this exercise.
  • Main focus was to test the region’s preparedness and resilience towards effective activation of Inter- governmental interaction for immediate response.
