Why in News?
On 19th April 2019, a former junior Court Officer in Supreme Court alleged that she was sexually harassed by the Chief Justice of India (CJI), Ranjan Gogoi. Supreme Court formed an in-house panel to conduct an investigation into the sexual harassment allegations which comprised of Justices SA Bobde, N V Ramana (later replaced by Indu Malhotra) and Indira Banerjee. The panel “found no substance” in the charges and gave clean chit to CJI.
