New Comprehensive Geologic Map of the Moon
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) Astrogeology Science Center in collaboration with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Lunar & Planetary Institute (LPI) has released the latest comprehensive geologic map of the Moon.
Unified Geologic Map of the Moon
- Called the ‘Unified Geologic Map of the Moon’, it represents the Moon on a 1:5,000,000 scale.
- It has been created collating the information gathered from six digitally renovated regional geologic lunar maps that were created during the Apollo Programme and data from recent missions to the Moon.
