National Mineral Policy, 2019
- In March 2019, the Union Cabinet approved the National Mineral Policy (NMP), 2019 to replace the National Mineral Policy 2008.
- The move to introduce new Mineral Policy is to comply with Supreme Court’s direction in Common Cause vs. Union of India and others case.
- In August 2017, following the SC direction, a 29-member Committee chaired by K Rajeswara Rao, was set up by the Ministry to come up with a new NMP.
