Tripura HC Bans Animals Sacrifice
- The Tripura High Court has banned centuries-old tradition of animals sacrifice in religious places across the state.
- The HC invoked Article 21 of the Indian Constitution – “No person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty except according to procedure established by law”.
- Referring to judgments in Jallikattu case, the Court said that ‘Right to Life’ now stands extended to all living beings, thus the expression "person" has to be read contextually.
