Bank Consolidation Drive Results in Merger of Ten Public Sector Banks
On 30th August 2019, Union Finance Minister announced the merger of 10 public sector banks into 4 larger banks. This would take the number of public sector banks in the country from 27 in 2017 to 12. The date of merger is yet to be decided.
