Himachal Pradesh
- Himachal Pradesh became the first state in India to begin organised cultivation of true dalchini (cinnamon).
- The true cinnamon is derived from Cinnamomumverumwhereas the majority of cinnamon being sold in the market is derived from Cinnamomum cassia which has a high content of courmarin which is not good for health and is known as kidney destroyer due to which it is banned in the US and other countries.
