Global Innovation Index 2021 (GII): India Marches Ahead
Recently, the Global Innovation Index 2021 (GII) was published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a specialized agency of the United Nations.
Now in its 14th edition, the index is published by WIPO in partnership with the Portulans Institute and with the support of corporate partners.
About Global Innovation Index
Published annually, the index is a ranking of the innovation capabilities and results of 132 economies.
- Criteria: It measures innovation based on criteria that include institutions, human capital and research, infrastructure, credit, investment, linkages; the creation, absorption and diffusion of knowledge; and creative outputs.
