Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2020
- On 26th August, 2020, NITI Aayog in partnership with the Institute of Competitiveness released the first Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2020.
Objectives of EPI
- It aims to assess the readiness of the states, in terms of their export potential and their performance.
- The primary goals of the Index are to inculcate competition among all states in India in order to:
- bring favorable export promotion policies
- ease regulatory framework to prompt subnational promotion of exports
- create necessary infrastructure for exports
- help in identifying strategic recommendations for improving export competitiveness.
