Global Innovation Index
- India went five places up in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2019 improving its position to 52nd in 2019 as against 57th in 2018. Switzerland topped the list.
- The GII ranking is published by Cornell University, INSEAD, the UN World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and GII Knowledge Partners, over 129 economies.
- The theme of the 2019 edition of the release was - ‘Creating Healthy Lives – The Future of Medical Innovation’.
