- The establishment of the facility marks a crucial milestone in India's technological advancement and places the nation among a select few possessing such advanced hypersonic testing capabilities.
- Developed by the Hypersonic Experimental Aerodynamics Laboratory at IIT Kanpur's Department of Aerospace Engineering, the facility, named S2, is designed to simulate hypersonic conditions with flight speeds ranging from 3-10 km/s.
