Recently, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, India has achieved milestone of 101 Million Cubic Meters per day of gas production.
- It is a significant step towards becoming a gas-based economy.
Government Steps towards Gas-based Economy
Revised Domestic Gas Pricing Guidelines
- In April, 2023, the Centre approved the revised domestic natural gas pricing guidelines for gas produced from nomination fields of ONGC/OIL, New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP) blocks and pre-NELP blocks.
- The price of such natural gas shall be 10% of the monthly average of Indian Crude Basket and shall be notified on a monthly basis.
