- India’s Koneru Humpy beat Indonesia’s Irine Kharisma Sukandar in Round 11 to win FIDE World Rapid Championship 2024 held in New York.
- It was her second world rapid title, and the fourth time she has finished in the top three of the event.
- Humpy had previously won this title in 2019, apart from finishing third in 2012, and second in 2023.
