Inscription of Nolamba Pallavas Discovered
Recently, an ancient inscriptions, hero stones and idols of Shiva Linga and Nandi have been unearthed in Cholemarri village, 22 km from Penukonda in Sri Sathya Sai district (Andhra Pradesh).
- According to the researchers, the archaeological findings belong to theNolamba Pallavas.
- The inscription located east of Cholemarri village has been identified as the one belonging to Nolamba Pallava King - Mahendra Nolambadhi Raja (875-897).
About Nilamba Pallavas
- Mangala Nomabathi Raja (735–785 A.D.) was considered the founder of the Nolamba dynasty.
- Inscriptional evidence suggests that they came into existence as governors when the Pallavas and Chalukyas were supreme powers.
