Military Logistics Agreements (MLAs)
India signed Military Logistics Agreements (MLAs) with Australia, Japan, US – the Quad countries – as well as with France, Singapore, and South Korea. Also, India is in the process of finalizing such an agreement with U.K. and in talks with other partners like Vietnam.
Significance
- Saves both Time and Money: Of the lengthy bookkeeping exercises that militaries have to conduct on a regular basis, such as when participating in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) operations or even bilateral military exercises.
- Greater Interoperability and Enhanced Cooperation between Nations: through reciprocal facilitation of forces during actions like as peacekeeping, HADR, ....
