- Recently, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change launched the National Campaign for Updation and Verification of People's Biodiversity Register (PBR) in Goa.
- The primary aim of this campaign is to document and preserve India's rich biological diversity.
- The People's Biodiversity Register serves as a comprehensive record of locally available bio-resources, including information about the landscape and demography of a specific area or village.
- These registers are prepared by Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) in consultation with local communities.
