Healing of Ozone Layer
According to a recent United Nations report, Earth’s protective ozone layer is slowly but noticeably healing at a pace that would fully mend the hole over Antarctica in about 43 years.
The successful phasing out of ozone depleting substances (ODS) as envisioned in the Montreal Protocol has set the stage for a complete recovery of the ozone layer by the 2060s. As of now, 99 per cent of ODS have been successfully phased out.

- Recovery: The global average amount of ozone 30 km high in the atmosphere won’t be back to 1980 pre-thinning levels until about 2040.
