Bobbili Veena
The famous Bobbili Veena was presented as part of a cultural exchange to the delegates of the G-20 conference held in Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) on March 29th, 2023.
About Bobbili Veena
- Also known as 'Saraswati Veena', it is a string instrument made by craftsmen living in Bobbili, Gollapalli (20 kms. from Bobbili) and Wadada in Vizianagaram district and Nuzividu in Krishna district.
- Bobbili Veena is carved from a single piece of jackwood by Sarwasiddi community artisans of Gollapalli under Bobbili Samsthanam. This is why it is also referred to as 'Ekanda Veena'.
