For successful adoption of AI in public forum, concerns regarding ethical management of data and the digital divide prevalent in Indian society needs to be addressed. Technology disruptions like AI are once-in-a generation phenomenon, and hence large-scale national strategies, need to be taken to strike a balance between narrow definitions of financial impact and the greater good. Amitabh Kant summarized it best when he commented-” Democratizing AI” is essential for India’s Inclusive growth.

Digi Gaon Scheme Digi Gaon Scheme also known as Digital Villages has been expanded to 700 villages in the country. The project envisages village-based Common Service Centres(CSCs) of India connect with Wi-Fi choupals and assist the residents in entrepreneurship opportunities like sanitary napkins, LED manufacturing units etc. The objective of the scheme is to build rural capacities and livelihood through community participation and help transition the Indian villages towards a digitally empowered society and ensure self sustainability. |
