E-Courts Integrated Mission Mode Project

E-Courts Integrated Mission Mode Project was launched as part of National e-governance Plan in 2007 to digitize courts pan-India. It is 2 phased project (Phase I: 2010 to 2015 and Phase II: 2015-19) for ICT enablement of district and subordinate courts of the country.

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To provide efficient and time-bound citizen centric services delivery as detailed in e-Court Project Litigant’s Charter.
  • To develop, install and implement decision support systems in courts.
  • To automate the processes to provide transparency in accessibility of information to its stakeholders.
  • To enhance judicial productivity, both qualitatively and quantitatively, to make the justice delivery system affordable, accessible, cost effective, predictable, reliable and transparent.

It is considered as widely successful scheme as it has been successful in ensuring good rate of completing deliverables.

Under Phase II, 18,735 District & Subordinate courts have been computerized so far (2020).
