Minor Forest Produce in MSP

Ministry of Tribal Affairs has revised the MSP for Minor Forest Produce list and has included 14 additional MFPs in the list with an aim to provide fair and remunerative prices to tribal gatherers of forest produces.

  • It has been done under the ‘Mechanism for Marketing of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) through Minimum Support Price (MSP) & Development of Value Chain for MFP’ scheme, which was conceptualized and implemented by TRIFED in association with State Government Agencies across 21 states of the country.
  • The new items included in the list are-
    1. Tasar Coccoon
    2. Cashew Kernel (Anacardiumoccidentale)
    3. Elephant Apple Dry
    4. Bamboo Shoot (Phyllostachys edulis)
    5. Malkangani Seed. (Celastruspaniculatus Wild)
    6. Mahul Leaves ( Bauhinia Vahlli)
    7. Nagod (Vitex negundo)
    8. Gokhru (Tribulus terrestris)
    9. Pipla/ Uchithi (dried berry) (Piper pedicellatum)
    10. Gamhar/ Gamari (dry bark) (Gmelina arborea)
    11. Oroxylumindicum (dry bark)
    12. Wild Mushroom dry (Agaricussp)
    13. Shringraj (Eclipta Alba)
    14. Tree Moss (Bryophytes)
