The Court gave directions to political parties to mandatorily upload the detailed information of candidates along with pending criminal cases against them on their websites.
They also need to state reasons for selecting such candidates and not the ones without any criminal antecedents.
Also, this information has to be published on a local and national newspaper and on the official social media platforms of the political party.
Political parties have to submit a report of the Election Commission within 72 hours of the selection of the said candidate.
