Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission

It was launched in 2011 by the Ministry of Rural Development as a restructured form of Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana. It aims at reducing poverty by enabling poor to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage unemployment opportunities.

Following schemes have been undertaken to ensure the same –

  • Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana (AGEY): It was included as a sub-mission in 2017 which aims at providing self-employment under NRLM by facilitating poor to operate public transport services in backward areas.
  • Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP): It aims at promoting startup/entrepreneurial environment through the components of start-up environment i.e. building knowledge hub, providing adequate finances etc.
  • Deen Dayal Upadhayaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY): Launched as an independent mission in 2011 to impart job related skills in rural youth, it was submerged in NRLM in 2014.
