Ensuring Social and Economic Justice

The following provisions of the constitution ensures social and economic justice for the people-

  • Article 38: To promote the welfare of people by securing a social order permeated by justice, social, economic and political, and to minimise inequalities of income, status, facilities and opportunities.
  • Article 39: To secure Right to an adequate means of livelihood to all the citizens. To prevent concentration of wealth in few hands, and organize ownership and control of material resources in such a manner as to serve the common good.
  • Article 39A: To promote equal justice and to provide free legal aid to the poor.
  • Article 41: To secure the right to work, to education, and to public assistance in cases of unemployment, old age, sickness, and disablement.
